I love the seaside
I feel calm & grounded being next to the sea. It brings back fond memories of childhood holidays & day trips to the seaside; when a day trip or holiday was a very special treat. Time spent building sandcastles, exploring rock pools, collecting shells & stones, paddling in the sea.
Now it is also about being in nature, the beauty & wonder of it - the colours, textures & patterns. No wonder that most of my art is inspired by the seaside.
I am a member of the Buckinghamshire Craft Guild
The Guild aims to promote the best in designer & contemporary crafts in Buckinghamshire.
I am Chair of Visual Images Group (VIG)
I love being part of the creative community & have volunteered as Chair since December 2022.
VIG is a not for profit membership organisation to promote visual arts across Buckinghamshire. The annual flagship event is Bucks Art Weeks.
I was a finalist in the National Trust/Bucks Art Weeks competition (2022)
My glass sculpture, Landscape, took me to the finals in my first competition.
One of my large glass bowls resides in a church font
It is in the font at the Holy Trinity Church, Gawcott in Buckinghamshire. It was purchased by the vicar at the time & plays a part in ceremonies, like Baptisms, within the community.
My glass bees were at the Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea Flower show in 2022
I was asked to design & create some bespoke glass bees by Branch-out MK CIC for their display. The display won a Silver medal.
